BEST COLD BREW RECIPE
Do you want a delicious cup of coffee for only 35 cents?!?
To make this Cold Brew in bulk (trust me, you will want to make lots of it!) you will need:
1 bag of coffee (12oz), we LOVE Peet's Major Dickason's Blend, whole bean (get it here: https://amzn.to/2Jb1vbb)
Small grinder
Large Bowl
Mesh Strainer (get here: https://amzn.to/2RHAX5g)
Paper filters
Mason jar mesh filter (get it here: https://amzn.to/2J4UU1S)
2 cup measuring cup
Wide mouth funnel (get one here: https://amzn.to/2Ji7w5U)
4 half gallon mason jars (get them here https://amzn.to/2Ja6vgs)
Water
First you need to COURSE grind your coffee beans and divide them into mason jars; 1 1/4 cup per jar. Fill to the neck with water and label the top with a dry erase marker with the DAY and TIME.
Then, WAIT... 48 - 72 hours. Honestly, this time frame is very forgiving. We have filtered earlier and also a week later (Hey! We are busy!) and it has always been good. We have found that we prefer a longer steeping period, but let us know what you prefer after you try it!
When you are ready to filter, put the Mason jar mesh filter into the mason jar and place the metal ring of the cover back on to hold the filter in place.
Pour this over the paper filter, which is over the wide mesh filter, which is over the big bowl. Fill to the top of the paper filter, and wait until gravity has let all the coffee flow down into the bowl. Once your bowl is half way filled, transfer the cold brew into a mason jar for storing!
Repeat this process until all your cold brew is double filtered and transferred into jars for storing.
This will keep in the fridge for 3-4 weeks, but ours is long gone before that time comes!
Serve with a splash of heavy whipping cream over ice =)
Enjoy!!
